“Appreciation! There are no awards this year, but it can still be hard to navigate the huge universe of book blogging. Share with your readers some of the blogs you enjoy reading daily and why.”

Y’all, I visit a lot of blogs every single day, just because I love seeing the books people are getting excited about and the issues everyone’s discussing. I thought this year I’d highlight a few blogs that I’ve recently added to my google reader that I pretty much obsessively check. And by recent, I think I mean since the last BBAW.

Amy at Tripping Books

Amy’s blog, Tripping Books, is one of the first one that I automatically think of. She has such passion for what she is reading. I can feel her enthusiasm in every single one of her reviews, and I love that. I never find myself bored while reading her blog or thinking TL;DR. Her taste is eerily similar to mine and I know that if she totally digs a book, then I will probably totally dig that book too. PLUS she’s one of those people who is a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender, so I was like okay, Amy has great taste I need to watch this, and what do you know I have a new TV show I enjoy.

Heidi at Bunbury In The Stacks

Heidi is one of those people who, after she reviews a book on Bunbury In The Stacks, makes me feel prompted to immediately look it up on goodreads and add it to my TBR. She reviews a variety of books from YA to middle grade. AND AUDIOBOOKS! Look, I wish more bloggers reviewed audiobooks because there is a wealth of audiobooks and it is pretty hard deciding what to spend the next credit on. I love Heidi’s reviewer voice, as it is very well-reasoned and intelligent. I feel like she’s an asset to my google reader, if that makes sense?

The Readventurer

Catie, Flannery, and Tatiana are some of the most interesting and intelligent YA bloggers that I have come across. Although my tastes don’t always align perfectly with that of The Readventurer, I love their blog. They do these cool features like She Made Me Do It where each blogger gives the co-blogger three recommendations and they have to read at least one of the books recommended. I LOVE THAT. They also do Three Heads Are Better Than One where they do roundtable discussions of various issues. Plus, the other day Flannery did a post about the unsung heroes of the shelf, short books, which had me going through my own books and TBR to try and see which were the shortest and most manageable.

  3. Some book bloggers I’m not really familiar with, yet – great! I’m heade off to see what’s doin’. 🙂

    Happy BBAW!

    Adam

  4. Thanks SO much April, I’m very grateful and flattered, especially to be put into the company of several of my own favorite blogs! I was pretty much MIA from the blogging community for August, so I somehow missed that BBAW was even coming up, but I’ll certainly be paying attention.

  5. I’m so behind on my YA reading that I only just recently listened to the audio editions of The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and Beauty Queens (written and narrated by Libba Bray.) You wouldn’t go wrong spending Audible credits on either of these fantastic audiobooks!

  6. I really like The Readventurer too. I’ll have to check out the other 2 on your list. Thanks for sharing 🙂

  7. I know what you mean about Heidi! Her enthusiasm is most definitely catching.

  8. Wow, that’s so kind of you April! I love the other blogs on your list very much too. Heidi is one of my go-to reviewers.

  9. April! Thank you so much for all the love, always. It floors me. <33

  10. YAY! I love discovering new blogs!

Obvs I was all over Amy and Heidi, but that collective is a new one! Holla.

  11. Thanks for mentioning us, April:) I have so many more wonderful short books to add to that wall when I get a few free hours. I’ve been mining my own post there and found some to read already. It’s crazy how fast we can plow through short books–I read two in one evening! At that rate, I could finish the whole wall…in a month or two.

I love Heidi’s blog as well. She knows I’m a total fangirl of hers. I will have to visit Tripping Books if you love that one, too. I love visiting your blog–I’ve found a few new books bc of your reviews recently.

  12. I ADORE Amy and Heidi! <3 I often see the Readventurer when I'm looking to link some posts to books that none of my blogger friends have read. They seem to read a wide range of books in fiction, which is always nice.

  13. I admit… I don’t know who any of these people are, but I do now!!!! I’m going to have to check them out!!!

  14. Love discovering new blogs! Thanks for a great list!

  15. I totally love Amy – she’s one of my favorites too! <3
