In My Mailbox (61)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren where we talk about the super exciting books that landed in our mailboxes, that we got from the library or purchased and then check out the exciting reads that other people received! It’s fun times y’all.

Holy moly. I think my heart about exploded at all of the wonderful that came inside my mailbox or landed on my door step this week. Y’all have no idea how much I screamed this week. Actually. Hint: A LOT. Cripes.

Why My Heart Exploded

Pile of awesome books

Purchased:

A Study In Scandal by Robyn DeHart (on my kindle, I kind of have a thing for historical romance at great prices)
The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz (FYA did a great series review AND I saw that it was only 99 cents for Kindle so of course, HOLLA, I bought it)
The Knife Of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness (I already own this in print and have already read it, but y’all it was only $0.99 on Kindle and I thought oh now it’ll be easier to convince my boyfriend to read it on his iPad)
The Ask And the Answer by Patrick Ness (ditto the reason above, already own this in print but bought the Kindle edition)
Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness (I have NOT read this yet, but have an ARC, but since it was so inexpensive for Kindle, I just HAD to buy it)
Memento Nora by Angie Simbert (This was a Kindle Daily Deal and sounded really good)
My Name Is Not Easy by Debby Dahl Edwardson (Also a Kindle Daily Deal, it’s about an Eskimo kid who goes to boarding school)

For Review:

The Opposite Of Hallelujah by Anna Jarzab (Netgalley) – also it sounds like a deep issue contemporary book and some days that is EXACTLY what I am looking for
Flirting In Italian by Lauren Henderson (Netgalley) – I heard a rumor that this book is similar to Anna And The French Kiss SO OF COURSE I requested it.
Shadowfell by Juliet Marillier (Netgalley) – Juliet Marillier is one of my favorite authors ever so there was kind of a scream when I saw this. I’m so excited y’all.
Velveteen by Daniel Marks (Netgalley) – Just go to youtube and look up DannyMarksYA and you’ll understand why I was pumped about this being on Netgalley.
First Comes Love by Katie Kacvinsky (Amazon Vine) – Friends, this one is SOOOO short. 198 pages AND short chapters.
Mister Death’s Blue Eyed Girls by Mary Downing Hahn (Amazon Vine) – I liked The Ghost Of Crutchfield Hall well enough, and figured I would enjoy this one too. And the synopsis seems creepy!
For Darkness Shows The Stars by Diana Peterfreund (Requested Review Copy) – I loved the Rampant books and I love romance and the concept and just thinking about it makes me sigh.
Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore (Requested Review Copy) – One word: SCREAMMMMMM! Seriously AHHHHH! How have I not dropped my life to start this? OH YEAH, I have blog tour questions due 4/1. That’s why.
Gilt by Katherine Longshore (Requested Review Copy) – Again, how have I not dropped my life? Historical fiction plus sexay cover plus Tudors = MY DREAM BOOK!
My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick (Requested Review Copy) – CONTEMPORARY FOREVA!
The Treachery of Beautiful Things by Ruth Frances Long (Requested Review Copy) – Fantasy plus fairies plus kick ass heroine. BOOM IN MY HEART.
Insurgent by Veronica Roth (BECAUSE I AM DAUNTLESS) – OH MY GOD. OH MY GOSH. Heart palpitations for sure.

Speaking of which. Do you love Gryffindor? Love Divergent? Love Four? Triss? #DeclareDauntless http://bit.ly/dauntlessfaction Tweet it if you’re #Dauntless

  11. Should one of us call the doctor because I’m almost positive SOMETHING happened to your heart after all this crazy awesome goodness! I know mine took up a very unusual beat when I saw all of this. DUDE. April your books should be in a photoshoot for some magazine where other bloggers can gape and ogle because that’s how amazing they are. I could talk about all of them, but I won’t, because I might just break your comment section. XD

  12. I am so excited for Insurgent! I preordered it through Amazon the second I finished Divergent back in December!

  14. I AM GOING TO PRETEND LIKE INSURGENT DOESN’T EXIST.

and freak out over For Darkness Shows the Stars instead! ๐Ÿ™‚

Awesome books for real! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts and such.

  15. AHHH! Seeing everybody get Insurgent made my pulse race for them. At least it’s only a month until it comes out, so the rest of us won’t have to wait too much longer.

  16. So…I had thought that I’d decided not to read the Divergent series until they were all published, but all of the faction stuff coming out this week looks so freaking cool, I think I might have to dive in now. And YES, I can imagine the screams! You got multiple books that are ‘drop everything and read them this instant’ books. How the heck can you even make that kind of decision?!

  17. Pretty certain that this is the best IMM I’ve EVER seen, EVER!!! I just can’t even really comment because there so much amazingness here.

  18. I want like all the books in your picture lol. I have Bitterblue pre-ordered but still need to get Insurgent. Have fun reading them all!

  21. INSURGENT! BITTERBLUE! My heart is beating right through my rib cage for the kick ass heroines in these books! I CANNOT EVEN.

Also, you know I’m freaking the fuck out over your purchase of the Chaos Walking Trilogy. Let’s just be real here and admit it.

  22. *Looks at your mailbox, screams, flails and DIES*
Every time I see a copy of Bitterblue, I don’t get jealous, I get PSYCHED. It looks so BIG and FABULOUS! And For Darkness Shows the Stars? BANANAS. Gilt? BANANAS. My Life Next Door? MOAR BANANAS. Your mailbox has all the bananas. (I’m not sure when exactly this comment went to banana-town, but there it is.) Whoop!

  23. I think I’ve got stars in my eyes seeing your mailbox!! For Darkness Shows the Stars! The Treachery of Beautiful Things! INSURGENT! Also hooray for spreading the Chaos Walking love. Fantastic mailbox, I hope you enjoy all your books. ๐Ÿ™‚

  24. GAH. BAH. FAH. *FLATLINES* Holy freaking crap. I’m surprised you can actually write a coherent post with those books within such close proximity. I’m losing the ability to function JUST LOOKING AT THEM.

INSURGENT *weeps* I just need to tell myself there is one painstakingly long month to go…. yeah, it doesn’t help. I’m totally going to be stalking reviews like crazy. SAVOUR IT. ENJOY IT. But I’m sorry, I’m waving my Amity flag! You Dauntless folk are awesome, but kinda scary.

EEEE and For Darkness Shows the Freaking Stars! Gilt! Treachery of Beautiful Things! *grabby hands* Shamefully I haven’t read Fire yet, but I have a copy so I NEED to read it before Bitterblue’s release.

And damnit. I have seen Velveteen too many times in IMM’s today to resist. I’m coming, Netgalley, I’m coming.

Um, so enjoy your effing amazing mailbox!

  25. Looks like an excellent collection of new books to dive into. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am excited to read Flirting In Italian, I’ve heard a lot of good things (and I loved Anna and the French Kiss!). Happy reading.

  26. I would have definitely screamed with your IMM! I love the whole putting bloggers into factions, it’s a really fun way to promote Insurgent! I can’t wait to read it ๐Ÿ™‚

  27. I got a whisper that my copy of Insurgent is on it’s way. I’m not going to lie, I’m going to be freaking out at the mail box every day this week. I don’t like the new UK covers though. WHY did they want to re-freaking-brand it?! They look stupid too. I can not wait to read it!

    I’m dying for Bitterblue!!!

  28. Insurgent and Bitterblue!?! That is awesome!!! YAY for DivergentNation! I’m looking forward to this week’s announcements about all the factions. I can’t wait to read your review on Darkness Shows the Stars. I’ve heard nothing by great things about it. Happy Reading!!!

  34. Gah! This is amazing! I haven’t even read Divergent yet and I’m still freaking out about Insurgent. I’m thinking I’ve waited this long, I might just wait until closer to the release date to read Divergent and then I can skip all the extra pining and everything. But I want to love it for real! Aaaaahhh, it’s a toss-up.

And For Darkness Shows the Stars!! That is one of my MOST anticipated releases for 2012, it looks amaaaaaaaaazing. I can’t wait to see what you think of it! Also, Bitterblue and Gilt are also SO high on my wishlist, it’s ridiculous.

I LOVED My Life Next Door, I think it’s going to be one of my favorite reads of 2012. And I’m super excited to read Velveteen and Flirting in Italian, I have them both from NetGalley too.

Whew! You have a seriously awesome mailbox this week. I hope you enjoy everything! ๐Ÿ˜€
