I don’t want a lot for Christmas There is just one thing I need: Top 10 Books I Hope Santa Brings

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly CREATIVE feature hosted by The Broke And Bookish. It was created by Jamie at The Perpetual Page Turner because she is awesome and brilliant.

This week’s theme is Top Ten Books I Hope Santa Brings. To be frank, I don’t want books for Christmas. In the immortal lyrics of Mariah Carey: I don’t want a lot for Christmas There is just one thing I need, and that thing is an iMac, and I have been asking all family, boyfriend, boyfriend’s family who oddly gets me gifts to just get me Amazon giftcards because that is where the cheapest iMac is. And I figure I won’t get the 1,124.99 plus tax that Amazon is charging, so I’ll make up the difference.

ANYWAYS, the supposed books I would not be adverse to:

1. Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally

Why? Bro, all my favorites gave Catching Jordan rave reviews. And my favorites are true blue, so I have a feeling I would enjoy this!

2. The Walking Dead Book 1 by Robert Kirkman

The Walking Dead Book One

Why? Because I LOVE graphic novels and like zombies, plus The Walking Dead is a tv show, PLUS it looks like a book my boyfriend would enjoy reading as well.

3. The Door In The Hedge by Robin McKinley

Why? I am slowly but surely collecting all of Robin McKinley’s books. I imagine this one will be just as wonderful as the rest.

4. And Only To Deceive by Tasha Alexander

Why? Allison at the Allure Of Books raves about this series and I trust her recommendations, as she is usually spot on for me.

5. The Broken Kingdoms by NK Jemisin

9. Sailor Moon 1 by Naoko Takeuchi

Sailor Moon, Manga, Vol 1, Naoko Takeuchi, Book Cover

SAILOR MOON

Why? DUR. I used to LOVE Sailor Moon, like get up at 6 am to watch it on TV, borrow the mangas from the libary, dress up as a sailor scout to promote the library’s manga section, able to recite the speech ‘In the name of the moon I will punish you!” Yeah what! It pretty much made my week to see that this is back in print

10. Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare

Clockwork Prince, Cassandra Clare, Book Cover

Clockwork Prince

Why? Yo, I really enjoyed Clockwork Angel and so this is a series I could totally roll with. Plus I don’t want to be left out because all my friends are reading it and not me.

  12. Sailormoon! I loved that! I used to pretend to be Sailorvenus. 😀

  13. If you can’t get the walking dead book then yall should see the walking dead feature on the Zlango app! https://market.android.com/details?id=com.zlango.zms&feature

  14. I LOVE that you have Sailor Moon on here. I was such a huge fan. Def wanna check out the new mangas. 🙂

  15. So I JUST finished (okay, not just, it’s probably been a day (or three)(parentheses within parentheses, I’m very cool, hur)) The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms and how hot is Nahadoth. I didn’t know whether to swoon or well okay, I swooned. I hadn’t heard of McKinley’s Hedge book. Have you read Sunshine by her? I wish she’d go back and write a sequel to it. And the Ninth Ward does have a gorgeous cover. Have you seen the cover for Inside Out and Back Again? Here, since I’m so kindly: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8537327-inside-out-and-back-again. Cover love is the best love (unless the book sucks).

  16. You need Clockwork Prince – it was EPIC. So much better than Clockwork Angel. I really need to finish the Study series – I only read Poison Study.

  17. High five for The Walking Dead! Sadly I’ve had this first volume on line for AGES and still haven’t read it. Which is sad because I blaze through GN’s like nobody’s business. And this is coming from a slow reader, which is also amazing.

And high five to Ninth Ward! I want to read that one too!

  18. I love Robin McKinley! I actually just ordered The Outlaws of Sherwood yesterday! Fantastic list. I hope you have a great holiday weekend.
