Shhhh. I’mma Let You Peep Some Insider Information

You guys, be really quiet, what I am about to show you is TOP secret. Evie totally snuck into IPCA and stole a few dossiers on the paranormal creatures, scattering them throughout a few blogs.

Unicorns
Level Three

Known Entity (Non-verbal Animal Form), Ancient Origin, Endangered, Protected
Immortality: Unconfirmed, highly likely
Breeding: No cross-breeding dangers

Appearance: Similar to Shetland ponies in stature, closest to goats in appearance. A variety of coats, from gray to mottled brown. Single horn (usually gray or yellowed) protruding from forehead. Noteworthy signature smell, described as rotting skunk.
Myths: Large size, high intelligence, magical powers, ability to cleanse poisoned water, incredible strength and agility, preference for virgins.
Facts: Unicorns are neither fast nor strong. Various tests are inconclusive, but point toward lower-than-average equine intelligence. Untrainable. No effect on poisoned water. Preference is for youth, male or female, or small adult females, regardless of virginity (please see Appendices: Unicorns, Theories of preferences and gender bias, Section 12.5.32). Early tests reveal minor healing abilities that induce a narcotic-like effect. Further study pending.
Dangers: Docile, easily frightened thus leading to endangered status. No known dangers.

Information contributed by Evelyn age 15 (please see Appendices Catalog, Section 7, for details on glamour-piercing abilities), transcribed from the original audio: What? Shut up. There are really unicorns? Why haven’t I seen one yet? What do you mean you weren’t supposed to ask me about them? No, I don’t want to keep going down the list! I want to see a bleeping unicorn! Raquel, he said there are unicorns. I thought you were kidding! Let’s go right now.

Still curious about IPCA? You need to get your hands on Paranormalcy and Supernaturally available now in any US book store worth their salt.

So, what’s Supernaturally about?

Evie finally has the normal life she’s always longed for. But she’s shocked to discover that being ordinary can be . . . kind of boring. Just when Evie starts to long for her days at the International Paranormal Containment Agency, she’s given a chance to work for them again. Desperate for a break from all the normalcy, she agrees.

But as one disastrous mission leads to another, Evie starts to wonder if she made the right choice. And when Evie’s faerie ex-boyfriend Reth appears with devastating revelations about her past, she discovers that there’s a battle brewing between the faerie courts that could throw the whole supernatural world into chaos. The prize in question? Evie herself.

So much for normal.
