I’m On Pins And Needles For These 10 Sequels

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the Broke And The Bookish.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is:

Top 10 Sequels I’m Dying To Read:

In no particular order:

1. Insurgent by Veronica Roth

According to goodreads which could be wrong, the publication date is April 28,2012. I totally cannot wait! Also a cover hasn’t been released yet. Hopefully this is as thrilling as Divergent was.

2. Endlessly by Kiersten White

So, I totally LOVED me some IPCA and Evie and Lend and absolutely can’t wait to see how Evie’s story will end. According to goodreads, the release date is in 2012. Also, Kiersten White’s goodreads review says there will be BALL GOWNS. Yay! (My review of Paranormalcy and Supernaturally)

3. Enshadowed by Kelly Creagh

Enshadowed, Nevermore Sequel, Nevermore 2, kelly creagh, book cover

Enshadowed

Team Varen. For sure. Nevermore blew me away last year. And while it looks like the release date for Enshadowed got pushed back to August 28, 2012.

4. The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead

The Golden Lily

Although I was disappointed by the lack of even a kissing scene in Bloodlines, I am still excited for the Golden Lily, maybe we’ll get some characteristic steam. The Golden Lily releases on June 19, 2012.

5. Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare

Clockwork Prince, Cassandra Clare, Book Cover

Clockwork Prince

I actually really enjoyed Clockwork Angel much more than City of Bones or whatever that first book was in Mortal Instruments. I’m also curious to see who Tessa ends up with.

6. Havoc by Jeff Sampson

Havoc, Jeff Sampson, Book Cover

Havoc

Vesper was fricken insane. I’m curious to see what a deviant is and what the deal with Emily Webb is.

7. The Drowned Cities by Paolo Bacigalupi

All I know is that The Drowned Cities is a sequel to Ship Breaker which was a fantastic read, and I trust that Bacigalupi will write a fantastic follow up. The release date is May 2012 according to goodreads.

8. Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver

Pandemonium, Lauren Oliver, Book Cover

Pandemonium

I listened to the audio of Delirum which was incredibly well done. I’m curious as to how Lena’s story will continue! Pandemonium releases March 6, 2012.

9. Hallowed by Cynthia Hand

Hallowed by Cynthia Hand Book Cover

Hallowed

I’m pretty sure we’ve been over this but kids, NEED MOAR TUCKER. Also Unearthly really impressed me with it’s lack of stupidass angels.

10. Crown Of Embers by Rae Carson

The last book I freaked out over was The Girl Of Fire And Thorns because it was epic and awesome and just such a ME type of book, you better believe that I can’t wait until Spring 2012 when the sequel is going to be released!

Comments

  1. I’m all over Crown of Embers too – can’t wait! Same for pretty much your entire list (except, duh: the ones I haven’t read).

So, confession. I have no interest in reading Bloodlines. I freakin’ LOVE Vampire Academy. But 1) her books often end in unbearable cliffhangers 2) there isn’t any KISSING. I’m totally waiting until at least the next book is released, maybe even more.

  2. Great list! I haven’t read ANY of these series yet but most are on my gigantic TBR pile! 🙂 Here’s my list. Happy reading!

  3. Jess @ Gone with the Words says

Enshadowed!! Yes!! And I SO can’t wait for some kissing in The Golden Lily, dammit! Pandemonium and Clockwork Prince also made my list. 🙂

  4. I am also excited for Bacigalupi’s next book, because The Windup Girl is killing me with its words and brains. You know you’re out of practice at reading when you’re like “this fiction is hard!”
Anyway, YALSA interviewed him earlier this year and he said this about the book: “I think of it as a companion novel. It’s definitely not a sequel. But yes, it’s set in the same post-oil, global warming world as Ship Breaker. ”
So that makes me think it’s going to operate like Kristin Cashore’s Graceling/Fire does. Which I will totally take; I love the ideas he uses and the way he employs them.

  5. Endlessly and Drowned City are on my list too! Excellent list. Check out mine http://wp.me/pzUn5-z7

  6. Miss Page-Turner says

YES!! INSURGENT! Divergent is my favourite book 2011. Your list is great: Hallowed, Clockwork Prince, Pandemonium!

  7. Great picks 🙂

  8. I’m also looking forward to reading Clockwork Prince! I can’t wait. I’m so excited to read more about Will and Jem (and Tessa, lol).

  9. Isn’t the Infernal Devices much better than the Mortal Instruments? Love Will and Tess.

Team Tucker all the way 🙂

  10. I cannot wait for most of these too, I still need to read Bloodlines and The Girl of Fire and Thorns but I’m dying for Pandemonium, Clockwork Prince, Endlessly and Insurgent.. ACk!!! =D

  11. Im also looking forward to Enshadowed. A lot.
I still have to read Unearthly – I hear good things, but Im a little put off because its paranormal YA – just because they all seem to be carbon copies of Twilight with equally awful characters.
    My Top Ten this week

  12. Jacinda @ The Reading Housewives says

I’m with you on Insurgent, Clockwork Prince, Pandemonium, and Hallowed!!! Ahhh, I want them all NOW! I want more Tucker too 🙂

  13. I’m so with you on Insurgent. ^^ I got the first one on a whim, but this one is going to be a pre-order.

  14. New follower.

I didn’t even know that they had already decided on a title for Paranormalcy book 3. I’ve also got Golden Lily and Insurgent in my Top Ten Tuesday  list.
