Top 10 Books On My Fall TBR

Top 10 Tuesday is hosted by The Broke And The Bookish.

This week’s theme is Top 10 Books That Are On Top Of My TBR For Fall.

In no particular order:

1. Don’t Breathe A Word by Holly Cupala

Why?: I loved Tell Me A Secret and I heard a rumor that Delaney is in Don’t Breathe A Word, however, on a cursory flip through of the pages, I’m wondering if that’s false. Even so, I love Cupala’s writing style and Don’t Breathe A Word sounds intense.

2.Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

Why?: Ready Player One has a bajillion references to the 80s, and guys I fricken love the 80s. I am totally that person who would sit transfixed every time I Love The 80s and I Love The 80s Strikes Back was on tv. And um, video games? YES PLEASE AND THANK YOU.

3. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

Why?: The cover is super shiny. If I put it under the sun, I’m pretty sure some ants would be roasted. Also, Carla says there are sexytimes, and dudes Carla is legit and also a sexytimes expert, I think she majored in it or something, so when she says it is there, I totally believe her.

4. Liesl & Po by Lauren Oliver

Why?: I’ve read both Before I Fall and Delirium (haven’t reviewed either one) but was blown away by both. I honestly trust Oliver’s writing no matter what direction she takes it in, contemporary, middle grade or dystopian. So I’m sure this will be no less amazing.

5. The Alloy Of Law by Brandon Sanderson

Why?: Let’s be real. Why not? I loved Mistborn and The Alloy Of Law takes place in the same universe, many many years later. Also it’s Brandon Sanderson, guy knows his fantasy.

6. Wintertown by Stephen Emond

Why?: Cover love. Also there are pictures inside. And someone who goes Emo, lol. Actually I shouldn’t LOL at stereotypes/cliches, but LOL. And I know it’ll probably be serious. And yes, I actually am excited.

7. The Future Of Us by Jay Asher & Carolyn Mackler

Why?: Because I pretty much lived it. Meaning the era I grew up in didn’t have internet. Granted the kids in the book are older than me, considering in 1996, I was in… 4th grade-ish? And we totally had internet in high school, but still, I remember the pre-internet era, and oh, nostalgia.

8. How To Save A Life by Sarah Zarr

Why?: All of my trusteds have this thing for Cameron Quick, and although I think he’s not in How To Save A Life, I’m pretty sure there’s a reason why my friends universally like Zarr. I want to find out.

9. Ashes by Ilsa J. Bick

Why?: Pretty much the hype machine has me. Also, cannibals and EMPs.

10. Wonder Struck by Brian Selznick

Why?: There are pictures. Also words. But the pictures are really very well done.

Very nice choices, April. Wintertown is high on my list to read this fall! And yes, the sexytimes in Shatter Me are ridiculous.

  7. Oh Shatter Me… Carla is right, there are MAJOR sexytimes and they are AWESOME. Make sure you have something nearby to fan yourself with 🙂

  8. How better to enjoy a book than to roast ants with it? I mean honestly. No one likes ants anyway 🙂

  9. I want to read a lot of the books on your list too. I probably won’t get to them this year, though.
