All I See Is Books: On The Immediate TBR

I do not know about you, but whenever I go from room to room in my living quarters, all that surrounds me is books. It is often challenging deciding what books to read next and when to read them. This is where organization comes to play.

I have A LOT of bookshelves. I think my current count is at 11. However, I have books in boxes as well as in stacks on the floor, and on top of the shelves.

As for my immediate, gotta read this next TBR, I keep those books stacked on top of my coffee table, which is not quite as nice as the ottoman coffee table, but it does it’s job.

Coffee Table With Books

Immediate TBR

The books are:

Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl; Hunger by Jackie Morse Kessler; The Scorch Trials by James Dashner; Rot And Ruin by Jonathan Mayberry; Silent On The Moor by Deanna Raybourn; Dark Road To Darjeeling by Deanna Raybourn; Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness; Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly

So where do you store your immediate TBR books? What books are on your immediate TBR? Have you read any of my upcoming reads?

  1. i am so not organised, so they just pile up anywhere there is room. the floor, the side, the shelves, draws, just anywhere they will fit.

  2. Wow 11 shelves? That’s a lot! I only have one and all my TBR is piled on top, no order whatsoever. 🙂

I’ve read Hunger by Jackie Morse Kessler and it’s a surprisingly good and deep book. I have Monsters of Men on my TBR too. I have a copy of Rot and Ruin but it’s a gift to a friend so it’s not really mine.

My immediate TBR right now consists of Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews, The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness and Paper Towns by John Green. 🙂

  3. I’ve managed to get almost all my TBR books on SOME sort of shelving now, though I still have a few stacks on the floor for newly-received books and library books. I’ve tried to keep my TBR books separate from the read-books, just so I don’t have to dig through a pile of them to get to something new. 😀

  4. No real plan with my TBR… I have a stack next to my bed but the latest book always seems to jump to the top regardless of whether it was in the original pile or not. Poor Bamboo People has been there for a while. Stupid class, making me read other stuff first.

  5. My ‘immediate’ TBR pile is usually… on the floor. Yep, it makes me sound lazy, but my shelves are full and I like to set the books I’ll be reading next apart. I usually choose about five books at a time that are my ‘next five’ and read those in whichever order appeals to me. If a book doesn’t appeal to me once I’ve read the other four, I add another four and repeat until it does. I’m vaguely aware this makes me sound kind of nuts.

I haven’t read any of your upcoming TBR, but just the sight of The Scorch Trials is making me overexcited. I think that next to Mockingjay, it’s my most highly anticipated read of this year.

  6. I only have the one bookshelf. =(

I do need a bigger one as this one is getting too full. To the point where books no longer fit on it. But I keep all of my TBR books together on a pile. Stacked up on my dresser. The thing is I have a dresser up to my thighs that’s pretty long. So my bookshelf is at the far end of it against the wall, towering over me. On the space next to the bookshelf is my TBR pile. It’s not really in a particular order of which books to read.

It’s in order of biggest to smallest on the length so that they look neat. xD Plus, they’re not that many. And I usually just read what I feel like at the time I go to get a book.

  7. I have books everywhere in my apartment. I’m at seven bookcases right now with plans to add 2 more, but I stack my immediate TBR books on the nightstand in the bedroom and on the coffee table in my living room. If a book sits in the TBR pile for more than 3 months I put it on a shelf because if I haven’t read it by now I’m probably not going to anytime soon and that keeps the piles from getting unmanageable.

    • I can’t wait to move out of where I am and into a legit apartment. All we have is 2 rooms to ourselves and that’s hard to contain both bookshelves, dressers, desks, etc. Love the sound of books every where!

  8. I keep all my TBR books on my bookshelf. I have two and a half shelves full of them. Back when I didn’t have as much space, I would just stack them on the floor. That got out of hand pretty quickly.

I just started Rot & Ruin, it’s fabulous so far!

  9. I used to store my immediate TBR pile right on my nightstand but after awhile, the pile started stressing me out. Nowadays I keep my immediate TBR pile on my bookshelves so I can easily forget about them without feeling guilty. 😀

  10. OMG! So many books^^

  11. oooo, looking forward to your thoughts on Rot & Ruin, because I wanna read that. If you really like it I may have to get a copy 🙂

  12. I’ve got one small shelf next to my bed just for my current favourites and immediate tbrs. 🙂

  13. ELEVEN bookshelves? That is fabulous. You should definitely do a bookshelf tour.. I’d be interested to see that!

I have just one five tier book shelf that stands about 6ft tall or so. one of the shelves is doubled up, which contains mostly my paperbacks and such. I really don’t have an unmanageable amount books at this point, but I am determined to keep collecting to reach “book hoarder” status. With 11 book cases, I think you’re right about at that level, you lucky girl.

    My immediate TBR is..
    – finish Brightly Woven
    – Crescendo
    – Bright Young Things
    – Personal Demons
    – Firelight

This is, of course, subject to change because Borders enables readers to buy new books every week with their kickass coupons, NOT COMPLAINING.

Yeah I think this is long enough. coughbookshelftourcough

    • I plan on doing a bookshelf tour as soon as I get a flip cam (hopefully for Christmas)!!

OOO Brightly Woven and Firelight are SOOO good.

Yeah, those coupons are killer. I just autodelete those emails now.

  14. YUM! I wanna read everything that is on there. I bought The Scorch Trials and Beautiful Darkness yesterday online, just waiting for them to arrive!! :} Happy reading!
