Impromtu Review-A-Thon

I do not know about you all, but when I check my goodreads need-to-be-reviewed list, I see a list that is about a mile long. I feel guilty for not immediately divulging my thoughts on specific books because they have been languishing on the need-to-be-reviewed list for SO long. In talking to a few people on Twitter, I have discovered I am not alone in this, shall we say, habit.

Therefore, tomorrow night, when I get out of work at 5:30 est, I will be holding a reviewathon. I hate doing things alone though, so I have created a Mr. Linky so you can join me. No need to post about the reviewathon on your blog, unless you want to.

My goal is to write at least 10 reviews, or, to write a third of my list. I am setting aside four hours for this, possibly more if I have people to talk to on twitter.

We can use the hashtag #reviewathon. You can tweet me here. Maybe if I can get more than 20 people to participate, I will give away some prizes on twitter. I am not sure what the prizes will be yet — I am not home and able to go through books.

  1. Great idea! Just out of interest, how long does it usually take you to write a review? If I tried to write ten in a row I'd be at my desk all weekend… now I'm wondering if I'm just super slow!

  2. Great idea! I wish I could join in, but I'm starting a new job tomorrow and so nervous about it that I don't think I could calm down enough for review writing at all.

  3. Hm, well I would join you, except I just caught up with all my reviews… Have fun though!

  4. I'd join also but I wrote my last one yesterday. Great idea however, and if you do it again I'll probably join then.

  5. April (BooksandWine) says

Lauren – I have a few reviews that are handwritten, which I need to type out and expand. That dramatically cuts the time of writing a review down.

Brizmus – Best of luck with your job!

Amanda – I am so jealous I wish I was all caught up.

Charlie – That is awesome, being all done with your reviews!
