The Fire’s In Their Eyes And Their Words Are Really Clear…..

Ever have one of those days where you have to post a ton of announcements, but don’t really have a cool title for your post, so you are like oh hay I’ll just post some lyrics from the song stuck in my head… me neither šŸ˜‰

First, this weekend is the 48 Hour ReadAThon hosted by The Mother Reader. I started during my lunch break yesterday, and the read for about four hours after that, making my grand total 5 hours so far. Over this weekend I am to read 24 hours, so I have 19 hours left to go. I have finished The City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. Overall, I liked it, but I’m not exactly clamoring for the next book. Now my nose is in The Passage by Justin Cronin which I’ve been reading off and on since 8 am, so I suppose you could say I’ve been reading The Passage for 3 hours.

Second, next weekend is Bloggiesta, you better bet your bottom dollar I am participating. I have so fricken much to post and I bet margaritas will be just the motivation I need to write those posts out and schedule them!

Third, my fabulous BEA roomie, Shanyn started a tour site for her BEA books. It’s called Star Book Tours. She’s totally on her A-Game, so I recommend checking this out if you missed BEA but still want to read the books.

Fourth, in other tour site news, a tour site for adult romance books has popped up. It’s called Romance Book Tours, and I for one am super excited about it because I have been craving romance like crazy. I think maybe because it seems everyone is reading it now, and really I like a book with a pretty dress on the cover!

Fifth, a few dear friends from GoodReads have started blogs. These ladies are amazing and absolutely deserve your attention. Liz, a recent college grad has started a blog called Consumed By Books. Allison, whom I’ve always pictured as Wishbone, long story, has dubbed her blog The Allure of Books. Fiona, who uses Tweety as her avatar appropriately calls her blog The Book Coop.

Sixth, Misty, who is amazing is doing this wonderful event called Jane in June. I love seeing the Jane takeover of the blogs and hope to participate by reading at least one Jane Austen book, possibly Emma.

Seventh, Sharon of SharonLovesBooksAndCats and I are hosting a Zombies Vs. Unicorns week June 20-26th. I’m the captain of Team Unicorn. Sharon is the Captain of Team Zombie. If you are interested in writing a Unicorns-related post – can be a review, a Charlie The Unicorn Gush, a debate on the merits of the Horn, please please email me. I will get you on the schedule ASAP. Please expect some cool contests to come your way as well!

I'm also doing the 48 Book Challenge, but only aiming for about 12 hours. Good luck, and keep reading (don't wander off to the computer like I did just now…).

  3. Just stopping by to let you know that you are part of today's 6 degree's of blogging separation over on my blog.

Have a great day & HAPPY readings!!!
my tea time is book time

  4. Woohoo thanks for the mention April.

  5. So many good things!
    1. Cassandra Clare just doesn't do it for me.
    2. Yay for Liz and Allison and Fiona — and Becky from our Wild Things group has one, now too!
    3. Ooh, come play in Jane in June. Surprisingly, a lot of people haven't proposed things for Emma, so that would be very welcome!
    4. I'm going to be Team Unicorn later this year!

So much to know about! I'm looking to Bloggiesta to clean-up my reviews, but I didn't know about all of these wonderful, bloggy things. Thanks! And happy reading!

  7. Sounds like you're going to have a busy month! I'll look forward to your Team Unicorn posts.

Due to the fact that I read so little paranormal, I'm not sure what team I'm on. However this summer I intend on reading Rampant to figure out why I should be Team Unicorn. Now I just have to find a book that presents the case for Team Zombie…

I liked City of Bones and I really wanted to read the sequel, but after that I didn't feel a big push to read the final book.

I'm loving Jane in June. I didn't really like Emma (the other characters are good except for Emma herself), but I will be reading Persuasion to celebrate.

I gave you an award http://blackteensread2.blogspot.com/2010/06/new-crayons-awards-summer-reading-lists.html (I should have given that post a line from a song!)

Please sign in at the finish line post so I can count you for donations and prizes. Thanks!

  10. Wow…looks like you've got a full schedule there! Best of luck on completing everything ahead of the game and enjoying the Blogiesta "festivities". ^_^

  11. Thanks for mentioning my blog šŸ˜€ I hope to read Rampant for unicorn week, although I'm not totally decided as to what team I'm on.

  12. I'm a new follower (not sure how I have missed your blog since I read so many blogs that you might read). I am also participating in Bloggiesta this year. Last year I participated from afar (I just landed on Natasha's website mid event).
