First Rate Friday

I am seriously addicted to book blogging. I love reading everyone’s thoughts on books. I love commenting. I love networking. I love screwing with html. I love it all.

Mel…He Followed Me Home has started this really cool new meme called First Rate Fridays where you link/promote some noteworthy posts in your google reader. I love the idea of spreading the love, and promoting other bloggers. (As I have started doing in all of my book reviews (by linking to other reviews), thanks to seeing other bloggers do it).

First up – Maggie Stiefvater has an awesome post about the Quality of YA Literature. Also there are pictures from Ferris Bueller and Adventures In Babysitting.

Second – Cheeky Reads has a post on books connecting generations of readers.

Third – Crazy-For-Books has started a Book Blogger Hop, so head on over and check out some blogs you may not have seen before and spread the love.

Fourth – Jenny at Take Me Away Reading has one of the most in-depth, comprehensive reviews of A Tree Grows In Brooklyn that I have ever read.

Fifth – Allie at A Literary Odyssey talks about re-reading My Antonia by Willa Cather and changing her mind about it

Sixth- Presenting Lenore has an excellent guest post by Rhiannon Hart about YA Dystopias

Seventh -The Book Smugglers has the most comprehensive post on white washing EVER

I suppose seven is such an odd number to end at, but I do really like the number 7.

The following two tabs change content below.
April is in her 30s and created Good Books And Good Wine. She works for a non-profit. April always has a book on hand. In her free time she can be found binge watching The Office with her husband and toddler, spending way too much time on Pinterest or exploring her neighborhood.

This really is a great meme, one that I hadn't heard of and really appreciate seeing now. It really helps me too as I'm rather new to blogging, still discovering blogs and trying to be discovered by other bloggers. Great post. Also, I too, love the number 7 – not sure why, I've just always gravitated towards it.

  10. Carrie at In the Hammock Blog says

Great post, lots of stuff going on around the blogosphere this weekend 🙂

  11. Hooray for book blogging! It does get addictive. Thanks for the excellent links – I'd missed some of those posts, so I'll check them out now.
