Nice group of books! I have Gateway, I need to start reading it s I've read mixed reviews of it and I want to form my own opinion.
War Dances sounds really good and I haven't heard of the invisable mountain or haruhi sumizaya so thanks for bringing that to my attention 🙂

Great Idea with the videos! I just started doing some videos myself over at my blog.
Lev Grossman's The Magicians was excellent. I think you'll like it. Although its a bit more epic fantasy in nature, Patrick Rothfuss' The Name of the Wind is superb and has a similar theme of a young man learning magical skills.
Viola in Reel life sounds interesting. I'm assuming that there are elements of music involved in the book.
